Plasma TV and LCD TV are two different televisions that are made for different display purposes. While both of them are in high demand, the cost factor between them is quite a big different. In fact, plasma TV's are very expensive compared to LCD TVs and they are known for their large color resolution. On the other hand, LCD TVs are not that expensive at all but they are known for their high contrast ratio and crisp picture quality. But still, many people cannot afford to buy them as they are expensive.
On the other hand, lcd tvs are cheaper than lcd TVs but their contrast ratio is low as compared to the plasma TVs. So if you want to save some money, it would be best if you are going to purchase an LCD TV. Although lcd tvs consume more power as compared to the plasmas, the lcd tvs are more energy efficient and give you better quality of pictures. Even though the price of the lcd tvs are a bit higher than the plasmas, they give you the quality that you want for your money.
It has been mentioned earlier that there is no difference between the LCD TVs. The only difference is their sizes. It has been observed that the lcd televisions use fluorescent lamps whereas the lcd TVs use light emitting diodes or LED lights. This LED lighting is also referred as LED backlighting as it produces the light that is recovered and then sent to the monitor. This type of lighting is better as compared to the fluorescent lamps and fluorescent lights can be harmful to your health as well as your eyes.
